WHAT IS THE IDAHO COMMUNITY HEALTHCORP (ICHC)? The ICHC is a National Direct AmeriCorps program— funded by the National Association of Community Health Centers. ICHC members work out of Community Health Centers and non-profit Community Organizations to provide outreach to families and individuals, assist with advocacy needs, provide health education, and serve as a link between the community and the health center. Major goals of the ICHC include direct patient services, helping people without health insurance access healthcare and required prescriptions, fostering community education, organizing health fairs, workshops, trainings, and other community outreach.
Activities ICHC members may be involved with are:
· Providing Health Education sessions, translations services, prescription assistance (in English & Spanish)
· Facilitating Healthy Nutrition Classes & dissemination of information (in English & Spanish)
· Outreach at various health fairs in Idaho
· HIV/AIDS Education
· Outreach and Services for Domestic Violence victims
· Adult Case Management and Quality Assurance
· Assistance, access, and translation services for Saturday Free Clinic
· Prenatal Education
· Community Service/Member Development
